Oratnitza
Forgotten folk melodies, Aboriginal motifs and orthodox chanting mixed with trap, hip-hop, dubstep or D'n'B. Band Oratnitza have enriched the traditional Bulgarian music with a contemporary sound. They make ancient harmonies, modern rhythms and timeless melodies with the use of didgeridoo, cajon, kaval (a traditional Balkan flute) and vocals.

In world music (or rather ethno fusion), Oratnitza is a Balkan export article. They started out as musicians playing on the streets of seaside resorts. With a number of gigs played, their fanbase spread out from coasts of the Black Sea to Europe. These talented musicians also import a quality ethno music to Bulgaria at their Ethno Fest Fusion. Hristiyan Georgiev, Georgi “Chorche” Marinov, Ivan “Popa” Gospodinov and Petar “Buny” Yordanov named their band after a Bulgarian ritual cleansing by fire. We discovered Oratnitza a few years ago at a showcase festival in Bulgaria. They were supposed to play Pohoda back then but couldn't make it. We're happy to bring their 100% live ethno-bass to Pohoda on the second attempt.
