Matwe Drappenmadchenfeller - neo-swing madness

The first visitors of this years' Bažant Pohoda will be welcomed by Matwe Drappenmadchenfeller, a selector, whose multifarious sets include apart from swing mostly nu-jazz, indie and alternative electronic music. The festival will begin with his neo-swing madness.

Matwe was exposed to various musical genres since childhood. His father was organizing swing nights in Trenčianske Teplice, which were a fundamental influence on Drappenmadchenfellers' alterego. Musically, he started as a violist in a Chamber orchestra of the City of Trenčín, focused on baroque music.

Neo-Swing (not Electro Swing) is a genre merging instrumental ferocity, dynamic drums and a striking brass section. Matwe adds elegance and passion, and his contagious joy of music is converted into eccentric dance creations on the stage. He never prepares setlists — his mood leads his improvisation.
Matwe loves clubs and festivals as a visitor, as well as an organiser. His home festival is Bažant Pohoda, where he is a member of the organising team.
