Lucidvox

Lucidvox

The Observer sings the praises of Russian band Lucidvox’s music in the review; Louder Than War names them as a “totally brilliant” band in section “Band of the Day”. According to The Quietus, “they are well on the way to being legendary.” Music and great gigs of these four energetic Moscow-based women enchanted us at last year’s Moscow Music Week where Monika discovered them. They will be playing their psychedelic rock mixed with Russian folk elements at Pohoda 2018.

Up to now, Alina, Nadezhda, Galla, and Anna have released album In Motion and EP My Country Is Your Country. Their dark guitar music is brightened by Alina’s crystal clear folk vocals; she also picks up the flute solos from time to time. Journalists mention the following genres in their reviews: post grunge, krautrock, noise, gothic melancholy, psychedelic music or mystical ethnic flare-ups. Observer compares them to “some of the joyfully brilliant arty noise bands from the 1980s” and according to The Quietus, they will “drown you in a beautiful swamp of sound.” They caught the attention of Louder Than War reporters at last year’s Tallin Music Week; at the beginning of July, it’s Pohoda visitors’ turn.
