Koven
Koven is a duo from London and consists of the producer, Max Rowat, and the vocalist, Katie Boyle. Max started off as a drummer in a typical garage band, in which he also made the supporting samples. This led him to producing electronic music under the name “Coven”. He was nineteen at the time. In 2011, he changed the name to “Koven”.

When he was looking for a vocalist back in 2014, he addressed Katie, whom he was a big fan of. Since this musical kind of admiration was mutual, they have been performing as a duo since 2014. Their music is called “organic bass”, which indicates the band's inclination towards electronic music with a large portion of acoustics in it. Max's key inspiration was the Radiohead's newer albums typical with mixing electronic music and alternative rock. Later on, his music was influenced by drum and bass, and particularly dubstep. With Katie joining the band, Koven started to focus more on strong melodies and lyrics. Their concerts are known for „live sampling“ and Max, as an ex-drummer, admitted that he might want to invite more musicians into the band later on. Last year, they entertained the main stage of the Serbian festival Exit. They already belong with “millionaires” on the prestigious dubstep channel UKF; in other words, more than a million viewers have seen their videos. You can enjoy their heavy bass and light melodies, and rough samples with smooth vocals at the Bažant Pohoda 2015.
