Kiasmos
At the beginning of the year, we asked our Facebook fans who of the performers at this year's Eurosonic they would prefer to see at Pohoda. Most people were interested in the Nordic duo Kiasmos, which consists of Janus Rasmussen and Ólafur Arnalds, the latter well known to the Slovak audience.

Ólafur Arnalds is an Icelandic composer and multi-instrumentalist, and the holder of BAFTA award for the music for the British series Broadchurch. His mixing of genres is not a random stop but the trip itself and in his songs, piano and strings mingle with ambient electronics. In the past, he used to play the drums in a metal band. He also worked as a sound engineer and while working for the electro-pop band Bloodgroup, he became friends with its central figure Janus Rasmussen. Janus previously cooperated with Gudrid Hansdottir. His domain is marked rhythms, quiet basslines, and synth sounds. Kiasmos is a project that fills the space between the main thrust of these two exceptional artists, thus the unexplored territory between the music composed for piano (and other acoustic instruments) and synth sounds of various latest electronic toys for big boys. This gave rise to the extraordinary techno for lovers, or you could also call it the dance music suitable for museums. Their debut album was released at the end of last year only; however, their songs have been heard hundreds of thousands times, and their performances are part of the line-up for festivals such as Latitude, or Sonar. Olafur mentioned for the German magazine Beat that he can finally create music suitable for dancing. For Spiegel, he described their joint creation as a soundtrack for lonely walks across a glacier. They are coming to share a piece of the Icelandic endless solitude with visitors of Pohoda.
