Kaytranada
At the time Pohoda Festival was founded, this guy wasn’t even 5 years old. Today, he’s got more than 300,000 followers on Soundcloud alone, millions have seen his remixes and sets on YouTube and he collaborates with producers such as Rick Rubin…

Kaytranada was born in the capital of Haiti, Port-au-Prince. Shortly after that, he moved with his family to Montreal, Canada, where he became the “prince” of local club scene. The clubs of the second biggest francophone city in the world were soon too small for him. Remixes of the likes of Janet Jackson, Flume, Disclosure, Beyonce, TLC and etc. made him a prominent guest at the most famous dance houses in North America, Australia and Europe. It’s not just the music but also his posts on social networks that appeal to the youth. He regularly retweets hater tweets, makes fun of himself or brags about something for a change, whereas he posts selfie-videos from his parties on Facebook.
Kaytranada merges Haitian liveliness, rhythmic elements of Caribbean and meticulous studio sound work of Nordic countries. The result is obvious: while in Canada, 3.41 people are “packed” in the area of a square kilometer; the same amount of people occupies a square meter at the parties with Kaytranada playing. If the funky-bass tunes make your feet and shoulders move already, but you are afraid of the place being packed, don’t worry. We invited Kaytranada to a place with room for everyone ;)
