Karel Schwarzenberg and Martin M. Šimečka to talk about samizdat in the literary tent Martinus.sk
Directed by Artforum, Prince Schwarzenberg and Martin M. Šimečka will discuss at Pohoda how samizdat publications and books were issued in the seventies and eighties.
02. July 2015
Located in the family castle in Bavarian Scheinfeld, the Prince and Vilém Prečan founded The Czechoslovak Documentation, i.e. prohibited literature archive; Martin M. Šimečka was in touch with banned authors and dissidents and is the author of several texts which could be issued in samizdat editions only before 1989. A good example is his Jinn, a novelette in three books, which was published again two months ago — thirty years after its samizdat edition.
Hosted by Pavel Sibyla. Martinus stage, Saturday 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
