Pohoda 2020 will also feature the rising star of experimental hip-hop JPEGMAFIA. A trained journalist and former soldier served in Iraq, Kuwait, North Africa and Japan, but was most influenced by Baltimore, where he worked briefly. After moving there, 25-year-old African-American Freddie Gray died there as a result of injuries caused during a brutal arrest. JPEG responded to the events with the mixtape Darkskin Manson, followed by his debut Black Ben Carson (2016).

He definitely broke through with his autobiographical album Veteran (2018), which was also praised by people like Rick Rubin and James Blake. The album got into Pitchfork's selection of the best albums of the decade, as well as to the best records of the year selections by Spin, NME or The 405. All My Heroes Are Cornballs, his latest record, is even more personal. According to NME, he switches between masks and jumps from one genre to another, which makes him the perfect artist for the present time. In addition to NME, he also made it to the year-end selections of Loud and Quiet, Paste and PopMatters. Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks will present the contemporary avant-garde hip-hop mixed with a great cocktail of many other genres in Trenčín in July 2020.
