Everything Everything
They were nominated for the Ivor Novello Awards three times; three of their albums made it to TOP 10 in the UK Albums Chart and they also received a nomination for the Mercury Prize. With each new album, they receive better reviews from renowned critics. Everything Everything is a guitar band from Manchester that loves Aphex Twin, Jackson as well as RnB stars. It is a band that convinced many critics and will also convince visitors at the 22nd Pohoda that, when in good hands, pop becomes art.

Everything Everything released their debut Man Alive in 2010. NME named the band “pop’s new Picassos” and BBC noted that they “are willfully eccentric, and endlessly entertaining”. Pitchfork wasn’t as impressed as the media on the British Isles back then, but the band won the magazine’s favor with the follow-up album Arc released in 2013: they received 7.6 out of 10 points and debuted at number 5 on the UK Albums Chart. The Observer named the album “another tour de force”. Two years later, they released their third album Get to Heaven.
Zane Lowe, TV presenter and radio DJ on BBC named the single “Distant Past” the “hottest record in the world”. Toward the end of last summer, they released album A Fever Dream, on which all members worked intensively. Teamwork paid off in the form of praises across music media. According to Drowned in Sound, on this album, “a definite sound has been settled on”. The 405 points out that Everything Everything “can sneak serious explorations of mental health, of the rise of ISIS, of the political machinations that erode the human connections between us, past their listeners because they have wrapped these high-minded concerns up in a package of eminently re-listenable, deliriously creative pop tunes.” At Pohoda 2018, they will show us what pop music should look like in an ideal world.
