Elektro Guzzi - outstanding instrumental techno
He/she who considers techno music impersonal music composed exclusively as a set of loops layered and united in samplers and computers should come to see and hear this music performed by the Austrian trio Elektro Guzzi. The punk assembly: drums, bass, and guitar deliver outstanding electronic music in a purely instrumental version.

Elektro Guzzi produce dance music in an analogue rock set up. Their concerts thus resemble a rock concert with their realisation, but their music is rather an energizing DJ set with some elements of minimalism and dub; however, originally they were miles away from techno music. As said in an interview with the Czech magazine Full Moon, they were fascinated by the idea of getting a similar digital sound out of guitars, bass, and drums, all without computers. The solution was the use of a wide variety of sensors for guitars and tuning drums and their extension with various metal objects. In 2010, Elektro Guzzi released their self-titled debut album. A year later, the album Parquet followed, for which they won the European Border Breakers Award. Their third studio album Observatory was released last year. The excellence of the live performances of Elektro Guzzi could already have been seen by the visitors of the festivals Sonar, Exit, Roskilde, and Melt. Yet most people probably imagined the quality trio from Austria as the Viennese classics. We believe that after this year's Bažant Pohoda, many of you will think of the Viennese visionaries Elektro Guzzi when they hear the term.
