Hungary’s Sziget Festival reclaimed its title amongst the Best Major Festival. Sea Dance Festival from Montenegro was awarded in our “weight category” of Medium-Sized Festivals. The Best Small Festival went to Poland’s Tauron Nowa Muzyka. British band Arctic Monkeys scooped award for the Best Headliner and Anthem Of The Year (for ‘R U Mine’). Slovakia had 3 nominees this year: Pohoda Festival, Grape and Austrian – Slovak indoor festival Waves. We reached it thanks to the votes of our supporters, what is the best price for us actually.
In the music you don`t play for some prize, playing itself is the prize. That`s the motto of the unusual formation made of music festival pros, including our CEO – Michal Kascak. Band called Ben Challis and The Illegal Terms peppered the gentility of the ceremony with punk covers of The Clash and The Ramones. The band members were: Ben Challis – Glastonbury lawyer, Christof Huber – chief of the Yourope association and festival Open-Air St. Gallen, Steve Jenner – Festival Awards director, Holger Schmidt – chief of the GreenEvents Europe and festival Das Fest and Michal Kascak - chief of ours Pohoda Festival. Enjoy a short video of their appearance.
