Coals
Even though they are only twenty something, Polish band Coals have already played amazing live sessions for the American radio station KEXP (recorded at OFF Festival and Iceland Airwaves). Their ethereal dream pop drawing from electronic music and folk has been praised by magazines The Quietus and American Under the Radar. The up-and-coming musicians from Polish alternative scene, Coals, have been on our radar for some time now and they put on a very convincing show the last time we saw them at Eurosonic.

Coals is Katarzyna Kowalczyk from Gliwice and multi-instrumentalist Łukasz Rozmysłowski from Mysłowice. They released their debut (Tamagotchi) just a few moths ago, but they’ve already played the major showcase as well as big European festivals. The melancholic electronic duo started at college with amateur recordings they published on social networks and immediately caught the attention of many fans. The band say they are inspired by Sigur Rós, Maanam, Soap&Skin, Dean Blunt and Spooky Black. KEXP compares Coals to The xx and the radio station also named their track “Weightless” “Song of the Day” in September 2015. You will have a chance to see them at Trenčín Airport at the beginning of July.
