Blossoms

All members of the band were born in the same maternity hospital, they grew up in a two-kilometre radius, and they made it to the top of the British charts—starting in the bass guitaristʼs grandpaʼs scaffolding warehouse. Blossoms received nominations for the Mercury Prize, NME, and Brit Awards for their eponymous debut album. They will perform at the Trencin airport in more than a half year.

Their first concerts took place at the hotel where they were working. The clip for the single “You Pulled a Gun on Me” cost £60. In May 2014, they released EP Bloom, which they could tour-promote only during the weekends, as all of them were working full-time during the week (except for Josh Dewhurst, who was only 16 and was attending school). In March 2015, they went to the American SXSW showcase festival via programme BBC Introducing. The real success of Blossoms was launched two years ago with the single “Charlemagne”, which topped the iTunes chart and the Christmas vinyl chart; BBC Radio 1 presented it as a recording of the day. Spotify included them in the “Spotlight on 2016” list. In May 2016, they were the main opening act of The Stone Roses and the Manchester City Stadium saw their biggest concert so far. In August, they released their self-titled debut album Blossoms and they immediately appeared on the NME cover. They then sold out the whole autumn tour that was supporting the album. They also topped the end-of-the-year UK Album Chart of debutants of the year, leaving behind the former One Direction member Zayn Malik and Jack Garratt (winner of the Criticsʼ Choice Award at the Brit Awards). This summer they played at festivals such as Glastonbury, Coachella, and Lollapalooza; Pohoda is looking forward to them in half a year.
