Twenty-five years ago today, Trenčín’s city stadium welcomed the very first Pohoda. In the past quarter century, what started as a small gathering of friends and alternative music fans has evolved into the best-known multi-genre festival in Slovakia and an important spot on the European festival map. Each year, Pohoda appears among the nominees for the most prestigious festival awards. National orchestra of Afghanistan at Pohoda 2022

The National Orchestra of Afghanistan concert will celebrate the power and freedom of music as well. The orchestra is formed by the Afghanistan National Institute of Music students who managed to flee the Taliban regime and moved to Portugal. It also features some of the girls who already played at Pohoda as part of the female orchestra Zohra. This orchestra was founded in 2018 and has been a great influence on Afghan music life since then. Their repertoire features compositions by Western as well as Afghan authors of classical and traditional music.
