Minimalism with maximum impact – that’s the best way to describe the Anglo-American duo The Kills, who strip rock 'n' roll down to its rawest essence. With their unmistakably gritty sound, driven by Jamie Hince's guitar and Alison Mosshart's vocals, they are redefining what rock can be in the 21st century.
Their music has evolved from the blues-punk of their debut album Keep on Your Mean Side (2003), through the blend of garage rock, hip-hop, and electro-pop on Midnight Boom (2008), to their sixth gritty and dramatic album, God Games (2023).
Over more than two decades, The Kills have become international rock icons, racking up hundreds of millions of streams. Their music has been featured in countless TV series and films, including the Oscar-nominated Children of Men. They are a rare force of nature, capable of touring with bands like Queens of the Stone Age or Guns N’ Roses. The duo’s musical brilliance is further underscored by their collaborations and side projects. Alison has appeared on tracks like “Meds” (Placebo) and “Riot City Blues” (Primal Scream) and collaborated with Jack White to form the supergroup The Dead Weather. Meanwhile, Jamie performed a series of concerts as part of Iggy Pop's backing band, who is also set to perform at Pohoda 2025.
