Salizan Takisvilainan and the Stories of Taiwan's Mountain Porters
Salizan Takisvilainan has won just about every Taiwanese literary prize in existence. He comes from the Bunun, Taiwan's largest indigenous ethnic group known for their traditional mountain lifestyle and history of porterage. The author himself worked as a mountain porter while collecting stories for his book, capturing the unique experiences of his people. Marek Hudec will host this event, part of the Author's Reading Month.
