Get ready for a dose of legendary Czech hip-hop. Coming to Pohoda 2025 is the iconic group PSH that has been shaping the Czech rap scene since the ‘90s. They’ll bring their untamed energy and a cross-section of their rich discography to Trenčín Airport.
Peneři strýčka Homeboye (or PSH for short) have been on the scene since the early 1990s, and the line-up of Orion, Vladimir 518, and Mike Trafik — the same trio set to perform at this year’s Pohoda — has been going strong since 2003. Their breakthrough album Repertoár is still considered a milestone of Czech rap and one of the finest Czech records ever made. It was followed by Rap’n’roll (2006), Epilog (2010), Debut (2019), and PSH Nekonečný příběh (2022) — the soundtrack to a documentary of the same name, which received an award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
PSH are known for their raw honesty, directness, but also wit. Their lyrics are full of real-life experiences and observations from everyday life, often capturing the reality of life on the streets of Prague. And it’s Prague that Marián Bene Benkovič (Modré hory, Bene & Video Dave) instantly associates with PSH: “You’re seventeen, on the brink of adulthood, and you happen to be in Prague. Around that time, Repertoár (2001) by PSH drops. You spot it in the shops but don’t buy it because you’ve already ordered it with BBarak magazine. You’ll listen to it countless times, and every time you press play, you’re right back in Prague. These guys managed to squeeze all of Prague into those four bars — you feel like you know it, every nook and cranny. Just like a few years earlier, when tracks from far-off places made you feel like you knew New York and L.A. And now, a quarter of a century later, with a ton of music behind them, it’s amazing that PSH are still as fresh as ever—bringing their Prague to Trenčín Airport.”
PSH are more than just a rap group. Their music radiates freedom and long-standing friendship, deeply rooted in urban culture and graffiti. And that’s exactly why they remain one of the most influential and distinctive acts in Czech hip-hop.
