Cult British band Morcheeba, who shaped the sound of not only the island's trip hop and downtempo scene, but their music has reached every corner of the world, will perform at the Pohoda festival 2025. Their 1998 album Big Calm is one of those albums that you have to listen to in its entirety at least once in your life, and it is also one of those legendary recordings that still sound futuristic today.
We are very happy about the confirmation of Morcheeba at Pohoda 2025 and that's why we kept the announcement for Christmas Eve as a gift for you. "I can't imagine a more beautiful Christmas announcement than Morcheeba coming to our festival," says Pohoda festival director Michal Kaščák, adding: "We love the tender power of Morcheeba, we love music and art in their various forms, we love you - and we are infinitely happy to have you. We wish you a peaceful holidays and look forward to seeing you at Pohoda 2025."
Formed in 1995, Morcheeba consists of the duo of Skye Edwards (vocals) and Ross Godfrey (guitar), and are accompanied on tour by Dom Pipkin (keyboards), Skye's husband Steve Gordon (bass) and Skye's eldest son Jaega Mckenna-Gordon (drums). Morcheeba's music is unmistakable thanks to their original sound, blending trip hop, downtempo, pop and soul, but the strongest hallmark is singer Skye Edwards' velvety vocals, which you'll recognise instantly.
Their biggest hits Rome Wasn't Built in a Day, The Sea, Blindfold, Part of the Process, Trigger Hippie and many others are now classics all over the world.
