Pigúra would have celebrated its 31st anniversary this year. However, their journey was cut short in 1998 with the tragic passing of their leader, singer, and guitarist Juraj Revický, who was considered a great talent and could have achieved a lot more in the world of music with the band.
Before and even after Juraj Revický's passing, Pigúra managed to release several recordings. In 2008, a documentary film titled "Juro," directed by Lukáš Zednikovič, authentically portrayed the band's history and the atmosphere of the 90s.
The recent release of one of the band's albums, Hello Amerika, on vinyl after more than a quarter of a century, is exciting news for both nostalgic fans and today's audience. Recorded in 1997, the lyrics capture the essence of Bratislava's mid-90s alternative youth scene, showcasing the artistic struggle between the commercial sphere and the underground. Pigúra is ready to bring all of this to Pohoda Festival 2024.
